Starside

Three hundred years ago a brutal war was ended by splitting a land in half. Starside is the side of magic and immortals. A place that glimmers like diamonds and cuts like teeth. Immortals don’t die from disease they don’t bleed they don’t need food and water to survive. Their eyes glitter like gemstones. They are the descendants of the gods. The gods themselves live on that side imbuing their land with endless resources. The other side Stormside kills each other for shreds of that magic. Every fifty years the gates between lands are opened allowing fifty mortals to go on a quest across Starside to a pool of magic. Everyone has their reasons for participating. When Aris was a child a goddess set fire to her village killing her entire family. Ever since that day she’s vowed vengeance. She’s not going on the quest for magic or to honor the gods. She’s going to kill them. She has no right to survive this quest. But Aris has a secret. The reason her family is dead and she isn’t. The reason she has been hiding her entire life. And when it’s revealed even the gates and the gods themselves won’t be able to stop what’s coming.
